NCOA/Move Update

NCOA

NCOA (National Change of Address) is the process which compares the names on your mailing list to the more than 160 million address changes the Post Office™ has on file. These address changes filed with the Post Office™ are kept on file for 48 months. When the name and address information on your mailing list matches name the "old" address information on the USPS™ NCOA file, updated information is provided. Updating your addresses before mailing, as required by the Postal Service, will help you save money by avoiding wasted material and postage due to the reduction of undeliverable mail in your file.

After the NCOA process is complete, you will receive an updated file to import into your database program and also a .pdf printout of the old addresses/updated addresses for manual updating.

NCOA updating of your mail list is the best and most cost effective way to update your mailing addresses. NCOA processing will return the new address for the person, family or business that has moved or changed their address within the past 48 months. Your return files will include codes that will help you identify undeliverable addresses, foreign moves and PO box closures. If you are mailing Marketing Mail or First Class your mailing list must be updated every 95 days per USPS requirements.

Move Compliance Update

The current USPS standards for 1st class and Marketing Mail require an update method for each address in your mail list within 95 days of the mailing date using one of the USPS approved methods.
